Fall 2016: The Music Issue

Here's what our music issue has to do with food.

We all bond over food. “Was that dessert to die for, or what?” “You must share your recipe for that appetizer!” And, my favorite: “A party without cake is just a meeting,” spotted on an adorable sign from Etsy. Food connects people to one another, encouraging sharing of ideas, thoughts and wisdom (“By the way, avoid those meatballs!”)—even among complete strangers. And it’s a big part of faith: Consider the importance of Christmas dinner, Passover Seder, Easter traditions and so forth.

Connect Faith aims to do the same for meeting and event planners. Each issue, we connect you to the wisdom, ideas, stories, suggestions and insights from other planners and our supplier friends in the industry, as well as to each other. Consider us a sort of spiritual yeast, if you will—on a mission to help you rise, both in your planning career and in your personal life.

In our annual Music Issue, we kick things off with a heartfelt interview with Nathan and Christy Nockels. Not only did this talented husband-and-wife team discuss making music together onstage at Passion and other rockin’ conferences, they also got candid about their real-life harmony (and challenges), even about doing things as simple as having fun making dinner together.

Speaking of fun, things get awfully funny in our LOL feature. We sifted through dozens of comedians to bring you six hilarious men and women who, aside from making you laugh until your stomach hurts, will inspire you with their commitment to their faith.

Finally, things heat up in “Soul Food,” where we talk recipes and religion with three women food bloggers. Their mouthwatering recipes and spiritual convictions will also leave you feeling full.
