Jennifer E. Hawkins
Executive Director, Sports Development, VisitPITTSBURGH

By the time Jennifer E. Hawkins joined VisitPITTSBURGH, she was accustomed to successful sports teams and towns. First cheering for the Cubs and Bears, it was then on to the University of Illinois for her undergrad before getting her master’s at FSU. Still she would come to quickly appreciate, and then expertly promote, the legendary and iconic city of Pittsburgh. Hawkins knows it takes businesses and communities working together to hold successful sports events.

Career Accomplishments

Hawkins has been involved in numerous high-profile sports events taking place in Pittsburgh including, most recently, the U.S. Open at Oakmont. She is a member of Women in Sports and Events, sits on the executive advisory committee for Connect Sports and is a past board member of the National Association of Sports Commissions.

“Jennifer is that selfless leader. Her passion, commitment to her clients and sports partners, and appreciation for Pittsburgh’s legendary sports history are helping to shape the next generation of leaders on her staff. They would run through a wall for her,” says Tom Loftus, vice president of communications at VisitPITTSBURGH.
