As the daughter of a former professional basketball player, Kristen Hanifin has been an athlete her entire life, and is active in youth sports in the upstate New York area. Her passion, nonstop energy and true understanding of the relationships between destinations and sporting venues have helped create exciting new events and economic opportunities for the Lake George region within the last year. Her vision, drive and more than 25 years of experience in destination marketing/PR/sponsorship and event management will be sure to make the family-friendly Lake George region the place for youth sports in 2017.

Hanifin has worked in travel and tourism for more than two decades and brings a tremendous amount of experience in marketing, public relations, event management, sponsorship, community relations and economic development to her current position. Her expertise working with different organizational leaders (public and private), creative approach and true understanding of partnership building have enabled her to successfully rebrand destinations.
