Mercedes-Benz Stadium: Atlanta’s Host With the Most

Atlanta’s new Mercedes-Benz Stadium is the home of the Falcons and Atlanta United FC, but much more. Take Labor Day weekend, for example. On Aug. 31, the Falcons played a preseason game there against the Jaguars, followed by two premier college football games: Alabama vs. Florida State and Tennessee vs. Georgia Tech. The world-class facility has already been awarded the 2018 College Football Playoff Championship, 2019 Super Bowl and 2020 Final Four.

Russ Yurk, recently tapped to lead the NCAA site selection process, sheds light on how a college championship venue is chosen.
