Up for Bid: 2016 USA Diving Winter National Championships

USA Diving, the governing body for the Olympic sport of diving in the United States, is seeking proposals to host the 2016 USA Diving Winter National Championships. The USA Diving Winter National Championships are a premier senior-level event typically held in December over a six-day period from Tuesday to Sunday. Elite athletes, who qualify based on a score obtained at other sanctioned meets, compete for national titles on 1-meter springboard, 3-meter springboard and platform events, as well as synchronized 3-meter and platform events.

Here are the details:

Deadline to Bid: January 1, 2016

Time of Year: Mid-December

Venue Requirements: USA Diving requires a facility with at least two 1-meter and 2 side-by-side 3-meter springboards. The venue must also have a 5-, 7.5- and 10-meter platforms (with synchronized diving appropriate width), and preferably a 1- and 3- meter platform.

Number of Participants: 125-175 athletes, 50-60 coaches

Room Block: 100 rooms on peak, total of 575 room nights

Hotel must be close to the facility.
