Up for Bid: 2017-2019 NAIA Division I Basketball National Championship

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics is currently seeking proposals to host its Division I Basketball National Championship from 2017-2019. The 32-team, single-elimination tournament is held over a week in mid-March.

Here are the details:

Deadline to bid: December 15

Time of year: Mid-March

Venue requirements: Arena with seating capacity of 5,000 to 7,000 and court measuring 94 feet by 50 feet. Facility must have a training room, five locker rooms for team andofficial use. Several practice sites must be available throughout the championship.

Estimated number of participants and fans:  750 players, coaches & staff; more than 30,000fans over the duration

Hotel requirements: Centralized property that can accommodate a banquet for 800-900 people and several meetings.

Room block: 400-425

Rate: $90-$110

Rights fee: $30,000 (minimum)
