Up for Bid: USA Weightlifting 2017 National University and Under-25 Championships

USA Weightlifting is currently seeking bids to host its 2017 National University and Under-25 championships. The event, featuring the second-ever U25 tournament, is expected to draw more than 400 athletes and about 600 spectators.

Here are the details:

Deadline to bid: May 13

Preferred dates: September

Venue requirements: 35,000 square feet of flexible competition space; seating for 600 spectators (preferably raised); breakout rooms; Wi-Fi

Estimated number of participants: More than 400

Hotel requirements: Near airport; walking distance to venue

Room nights: 1,200

Rate: $119 or less

Rights fee: $5,000
