Connect Sports is excited to present to you the latest events in the world of Team USA. Here is what to look for August 7-13.

USA Baseball

Event: Women’s National Team Development Program

The USA Baseball Women’s National Team Development Program is offered in years a women’s international baseball competition is not presented to provides athletes an opportunity to connect with USA Baseball staff to better prepare for future national team experiences. In 2017, USA Baseball will jointly host the Women’s NTDP for the first time, as it will partner with Baseball Canada in a cooperative effort to develop future talent for national team consideration.

Event: 13U National Team Identification Series

Sixteen regional teams from across the country will compete in their respective age groups at the NTIS event at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.. At the conclusion of the event, 12 participating players will be named to the 2018 USA Baseball 14U National Team Development Program..

USA Water Ski

Event: 75th GOODE Water Ski National Championships

More than 600 of the nation’s top water ski athletes from across the United States are expected to compete for national titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall in respective age divisions and two Open divisions at the Nationals, the world’s largest three-event water ski tournament. Advancement to the Nationals is primarily earned through placement on the national rankings list. Athletes also can qualify for the Nationals by placing in the top-five at Regionals or by placing in the top-five at the previous year’s Nationals.

When: Aug. 9-12

Where: San Marcos River Ranch; Martindale, Texas

Participants: 600-1,000

Spectators: N/A

Event: 43rd Division 1 Show Ski National Championships

Fourteen teams will compete for the national title at the Division 1 Show Ski National Championships. In competitive show skiing, each club has one hour to present a theatrical performance on water skis. Judges score the acts by awarding points based on originality, presentation and execution. Elaborate costumes and staging intermix with music and fast action on the water as an announcer leads the audience through the show. In addition to the overall team competition, athletes competed individually in swivel, adagio doubles, freestyle jumping and team jumping.

When: Aug. 11-13

Where: Shorewood Park/Rock River; Loves Park, Ill.

Participants: 1,500

Spectators: 3,000
