What I do: I promote the Richmond region as a world-class destination to host sports tournaments and events. It is a joy to build relationships and collaborate with event organizers to help them make history on and off the field for athletes and fans while driving economic impact to venues, hotels, restaurants and attractions across seven funding jurisdictions.

How I got here: After six years in Minor League Baseball, I pivoted my career to sports tourism. I started as a convention and sports services manager. After 2.5 years, I was promoted to sports development manager, and a year after that, promoted to director of sports development.

Why you are a Game Changer: I am committed to making sure the Richmond Region is recognized as a diverse and inclusive destination for sports by collaborating with organizations like Compete Sports Diversity, Connect Sports, and local and national LGBTQ+ sports organizations. Additionally, last fall, I helped develop our sports team at Richmond Region Tourism to now include a dedicated sports events manager and sports tourism coordinator.

Impressive stats: Sports tourism in the Richmond Region accounts for almost 60% of our DMO’s bookings year over year.

What I do outside of work: I spend a majority of my volunteer time with ASK Childhood Cancer Foundation raising funds or supporting events that raise funds for children and their families affected by cancer.
