Situated in the heart of downtown Winston-Salem is the $20 million newly reinvented Benton Convention Center. The redesigned Benton captures many of the authentic artistic and historic architectural influences of Winston-Salem, the two-level, 106,000-square-foot center features a sawtooth roofline, reclaimed wood accents and locally inspired original artwork, with floor-to-ceiling windows bringing in the energy and vibrancy of downtown Winston-Salem. In addition to design upgrades, structural enhancements create additional breakout, pre-function and executive conference room space. With ceiling heights up to 25 feet, The Benton is an ideal location for indoor competitions such as cheerleading, dance, karate, Taekwondo, and fencing, to name just a few.
Home to Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem State University, as well as four other colleges and universities, we also offer an impressive and diverse base of venues and collegiate facilities. The Wake Forest Tennis complex, annually hosts the Winston-Salem Open (August 19 – 26, 2017), the last ATP World Tour 250 event prior to the US Open. Across the street is the 25,000 square foot Lawrence Joel Veteran's Memorial Coliseum, seating approximately 14,500, and the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds and Annex that boasts an additional 65,000 square feet of flexible event space.
BB&T Sports Park is one of the premier multi-purpose facilities in North Carolina and has 13 full-sized Bermuda fields with nine permanently lighted. The complex seats up-to 1,400 with additional hillside seating for 1,000 and has hosted national soccer, lacrosse and ultimate championships in the past year. Also on-site is a 5,800 sq. foot field house offering multi-media classrooms/meeting rooms capable of seating 120, Wi-Fi, a filming tower, concessions and offices. Currently underway is a capital campaign that would add three turf fields to the complex.
JDL Fast Track is quickly becoming one of the premier indoor track and field facilities in the southeast and houses a 200-meter oval track with a Mondotrack FTX surface, the same surface used at the 2008 and 2012 Olympic Games. Near a number of hotel options, the facility also includes 1,700 bleacher seats, a 100-meter warm-up track, office and meeting-room space, a training room, and hospitality suites for coaches’ or conference officials’ meetings. Field event areas include two pole vault runways, two long/triple jump runways, one high jump apron and two throws area.
