Sam Boykin

 

Sam Boykin lives in Sacramento, California, where he's managing editor of the Sacramento Business Journal. He's also a freelance writer who has contributed to dozens of regional and national publications, including USA Today, Men's Journal and  Outside. He previously worked as the director of communications and public relations for the Charlotte Regional Partnership, an economic development organization in North Carolina that represented a 16-county region. Earlier in his career, he worked as a reporter and editor at the alternative weekly Creative Loafing, where he won 16 journalism awards, including first place for feature writing and enterprise news reporting from the N.C. Press Association.

While he currently lives in California, Sam was born and raised in the Carolinas. He and his wife have a beautiful 10-year-old daughter. In his free time Sam enjoys tennis, mountain biking and exploring the outdoors.
