Snohomish County is home to the Everett AquaSox Baseball, Seattle Mariners’ A-affiliated team; Everett Silvertips Hockey, Western Hockey League Team; Everett Merchants Baseball, Pacific Coast League team, Everett Reign Women’s Football, Women’s Tackle Football Association; and Everett and Edmonds Northwest Athletic Conference Collegiate schools. The Evergreen State Fairgrounds is home to the Evergreen Speedway, dubbed the Super Speedway of the West by David Pearson.
Xfinity Arena at Everett
Xfinity Arena at Everett was the recipient of the International Association of Venue Managers’ prestigious Venue Excellence Award in 2010 and was developed by the Everett Public Facilities District. Washington’s premier sports and entertainment venue features a main arena with 8,400 fixed seats. The facility is home to the Everett Silvertips, a Western Hockey League franchise, and hosts events such as basketball, volleyball, international skating and gymnastics competitions, EnduroCross racing and curling. The adjoining Xfinity Community Ice Rink is used for skating and hockey leagues. The two ice sheets can be converted to form a 57,000-sq.-ft. meeting room and an 11,000-sq.-ft. ballroom. Spectra—an entertainment company—manages these facilities.
Skykomish River Park
Located in Monroe, Skykomish River Park is a premier baseball and softball complex in Snohomish County. The park has seven fields of various sizes including four softball and baseball fields and three grass soccer fields, as well as concessions, a picnic area, a playground, restrooms, an off-leash dog park and trails. In addition, Miracle Field is a sports turf field within walking distance of the other fields. Other softball and baseball fields at Monroe High School and Lake Tye Park are within minutes of Sky River Park. The sports complex can host baseball, softball, soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, lacrosse, grass volleyball, dog shows and concerts. The park is nearby restaurants, grocery stores and hotels.
