2019 Sports Facilities Guide: Lake County, Florida

Hickory Point Park

Hickory Point is home to the 6-field Mike Stone Soccer Complex and Hickory Point Beach Sand Volleyball Complex, Florida’s largest permanent sand volleyball complex with 21 lighted sand volleyball courts. Hickory Point Beach hosts international, national, collegiate and amateur competitions year-round. In February 2019, Lake County opened the $1.8million, 4,000-sq.-ft. athletics center to add to the amenities around the sand volleyball complex and support the growing calendar of events. The Hickory Point boat ramp facility is the largest freshwater complex in Florida and is centrally located on the Harris Chain of Lakes, which hosts premier bass fishing tournaments such as the FLW Tour, Bass Pro Shops Big Bass Tour, Bassmaster Opens and more.

2019 Sports Facilities Guide: Lake County, Florida

National Training Center

National Training Center in Clermont includes a 37,000-sq.-ft. fitness facility, five athletic fields, a 400-meter outdoor track and field complex, and an outdoor heated pool. The newly renovated, 1-million gallon pool at the NTC is the second largest competition pool in Florida and was constructed by Myrtha, the same company that built the London and Rio Olympic pools. NTC is also home to Legends Way Ballfields, a 5-field fastpitch softball complex with a stadium field. The city of Clermont has been a global destination for multi-sport training and competitive events including numerous regional and national championships and was ranked as one of “The World’s 35 Best Tri Towns” by Triathlete Magazine.
