Up for Bid: 2019-2020 NAIA Softball World Series

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) is currently seeking proposals to host the NAIA Softball World Series in 2019 and 2020. The six-day event (Friday prior to Memorial Day through the following Wednesday) draws around 1,000 athletes and fans.

Here are the details:

Deadline to Bid: December 1, 2017

Time of year: May 24-30, 2019; May 22-28, 2020

Venue requirements: Softball stadium with specification consistent with governing playing rules. Field must have skinned infields with outfield fencing measuring a minimum of 230 in centerfield and 210 down the lines if the fence is 4ft tall, and a minimum of 210 in centerfield and 190 down the lines if the fence is 6ft tall. Covered dugouts must be provided, as well as a press box and lights, with preference given to hosts that have access to a tarp. Spectator seating must be provided for a minimum of 500 people.

Estimated number of participants and fans: 250 student-athletes; 500-700 fans.

Hotel requirements: Centralized property capable of accommodating several meetings and a banquet for 700-800 people.

Room block: 150 minimum

Rate: $90-$115

Rights Fee: $6,000
