Up for Bid: 2025 USA Triathlon Sprint and Olympic-Distance National Championships

USA Triathlon is seeking bids to host its  Olympic-Distance National Championships in 2025 and beyond. The NGB would like to sign a two-year contract with a destination and then return to the city six to eight years later. The host site of this event will welcome up to 5,000 amateur athletes along with more than 10,000 spectators from across the United States. Here are the details.

Deadline to Bid: March 30, 2024 (2025-26 timeline); August 30, 2024 (2027-28 timeline)

Time of Year: August or September

Venue Requirements: Adequate space for swim start/finish, transition area, finish line, athlete recovery area, spectator viewing, parking and race expo. Venue should not be more than 20 minutes’ drive from hotels. No split transition area.

Number of attendees: 5,000 athletes; 10,000+ spectators

Hotel requirements: Should be able to service 5,000 athletes plus staff, friends, family, spectators, and sponsors. USA Triathlon reserves the right to use its preferred housing partner to source rooms.

Room block: 4,000+ room nights

Rate: $99-$300/night

Rights Fee: $60,000 ($30,000 per year)

Projected Economic Impact: $6,285,000 (annually)
