Up for Bid: 2019 Cap Classic Tournament Series Events

AC Baseball is currently seeking hosts for its Cap Classic® tournament series in 2019. The event originated in the Pittsburgh area a decade ago and has expanded to include events in Orlando, Florida, and Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Nearly 250 youth teams from 13 states and Canada will compete in the Pittsburgh tournaments this year. New events are expected to attract between 60 and 75 teams in their first year; 75 to 100 in year two and more than 100 in their third year. Tournaments begin on a Thursday and end on a Sunday. There is a five-game guarantee for each team.

Here are the details:

Deadline to bid: June 30, 2018

Time of year: Dependent on location. Ranges include February-July or September-November.

Venue requirements: 8-12 fields without lights or 5-7 fully lighted fields.

Estimated number of attendees: New events are expected to attract 60-75 teams in Year 1; 75-100 in Year 2 and 100+ in Year 3.

Hotel requirements: Close proximity to venue.

Room nights: 750-1,000

Rate: $99-$149 ideally

Rights fee: None
