Originally from South Florida, Buckley joined the Ocean Center in 2004. He is responsible for competitive arts and sporting events at the 200,000-sq.-ft. event complex, just 400 feet from the world’s most famous beach. He has the pleasure of working with some of the most respected organizations in the sports industry such as the National Cheerleading Association, USA Gymnastics, American Athletic Union and USA Volleyball, to name a few. Prior to joining the Ocean Center, Buckley spent six years at Daytona International Speedway, home of the Daytona 500. A graduate of the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s in business management, Buckley is also a big fan of the Boston Red Sox and watching his 7-year-old daughter play hockey.
Buckley has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 19 years. Since joining the team in Daytona Beach, Florida, Buckley has played a significant role in cementing the Ocean Center as one of the premier youth sports venues in the Southeast. Buckley is a 2007 graduate of IAVM’s Oglebay Public Assembly Facility Management School and became a Certified Exhibitions Manager in 2016.
