What I do: It is my duty to research and bring business to Washington, D.C., through two criteria. First is room nights, qualifying groups that will fill hotels and create overall economic growth for the city directly. The second goal is to attract sporting events that are high profile and help tell the story that Washington, D.C., is the Sports Capital for this Country

How I got here: During my six-year professional basketball career, I knew I would have to transition into a more traditional workforce. I was able to start the journey at Under Armour, where I handled AAU, high school and college basketball accounts. This role and Destination DC have been home for going on five years.

Why you are a Game Changer: I’ve been a one-man show at Destination DC for almost four years and have been able to advance the number of bookings and economic impact for our nation’s capital. I have done this while growing my own nonprofit that provides high-level basketball and life skill training to under-privileged kids in Harrisburg. Pennsylvania, for more than 10 years.

Greatest career accomplishment: We’ve booked and hosted the NHL Winter Classic and Stanley Cup finals, NCAA East Regionals, ACC, A10, BIG10, MLB All-Star Game, Marine Corp Marathon, Rock N Roll Marathon and more.

Impressive stats: My economic impact numbers, bookings each year have risen from $65,721,148 in 2015-16 to $193,141,738 in 2018.

What I do outside of work: I enjoy golfing and cycling and am celebrating 15 years as a member of Kappa Alpha psi Fraternity incorporated. I participate in Guide Right community service events with our organization I’m on the host committee of My Brother’s Keeper Alliance’s Golf Event at TPC at Avenel.
