Jeff Webb yelled more than “Boomer Sooner” while at the University of Oklahoma. He was a yell leader on the cheerleading squad. Now, he is the bigger cheerleader of the country’s largest dance and cheer events organization: Varsity Spirit, which he founded 45 years ago. He remains chairman and CEO of Varsity. While you may know all of the above about this sports tourism legend, here are some facts you don’t know about Webb.
  1. My favorite sports movie is “Rocky.”
  2. I never leave the house without my Apple AirPods.
  3. If I had to eat one food for the rest of my life it would be peanut butter.
  4. Growing up, I was sure I would be a professional athlete or coach.
  5. I know every word to the song “Take it Easy,” by the Eagles.
  6. If I could only watch one sport every day, it would be college football.
  7. My nickname in high school was “Tiger.”
  8. I played my best round of golf ever at 40.
  9. At an industry conference or event, you can typically find me interacting with people at all levels who run the event.
  10. I felt most proud in my career when our sport was recognized by the IOC.
