Plano’s 75 square miles of park fields and sport facilities dominate the north Texas region. With the support of an experienced, award-winning athletics staff, Plano does youth sports right. Tournaments return year after year to enjoy the safe, affordable park fields, hotels, restaurants, and attractions modern families enjoy. Plano hosts everything from youth soccer to international cricket with equal aplomb.

Plano routinely hosts 250-team soccer tournaments and is headquarters to the 850-team Labor Day Invitational hosted by Plano Youth Soccer Association. National sport groups are also putting down roots in Plano with 150-team lacrosse events. 

Plano provides a major league sports support infrastructure to conduct the best competitions possible, amateur and non-traditional alike. When it comes to hosting major sports tournaments and matches, Plano’s got game and plenty of venues to accommodate.

Country club sports abound in and around Plano with five public golf courses and two highly rated private clubs. For tennis, Collin College has 18 lighted courts just a short distance from 20 lighted courts at High Point Tennis Center. LifeTime Fitness also has an indoor tennis facility with 10 indoor climate-controlled courts. 

Plano started the indoor basketball and volleyball facility craze with their first Plano Sports Authority. PSA now has four top-quality wood floor facilities within a 15-mile range in Collin County (two being in Plano). Each PSA has an average of eight full-sized courts, an indoor turf field, video scoreboards, meeting rooms, sportswear shop, and concession stands. 

High Point Park is a one-stop shop for youth recreational sports and multipurpose by design, with natural-turf sport fields that can be used for softball or youth baseball and full-size soccer fields. 

There are 83 public parks, more than 4,370 acres of green space, more than 82 miles of paved trails, 168 athletic fields, nine swimming pools, 133 public tennis courts, two public golf courses and five recreation centers.
